Chris Stiles Art Chris Stiles, 40, has autism that limites his ability to communicate. He has been drawing since he was about 10 years old. “For years friends and neighbors encouraged us to sell Chris’ artwork,” said Julie Stiles, a family member.“We didn’t know where to begin. When we tried to open a business bank account without a business license, the bank referred us to StartZone.” StartZone helped Chris and his family start a small business where he could share his artwork with others.
Jennie Bouska-Coddington, LLC While Jennie Bouska-Coddington was working as a mortgage planning specialist, she saw clients who were going through a divorce make the wrong decisions about their home. She decided to become a certified divorce planner and has seen her company grow with the help of StartZone’s services. “They have given me referrals of networking opportunities throughout the community, put me in touch with individuals that they feel could help my business grow and stay in contact with me so I never feel alone in starting my own company,” said Bouska-Coddington.
Expanding Minds Publishing "I couldn't find a bank that would lend to me," said Nicole Yemothy, the owner of Expanding Minds Publishing, a company that sells learning products for children. "StartZone connected me to Community Capital Development in Seattle and helped me prepare a successful loan application - in just three weeks!" With the loan and the help of StartZone, Nicole was able to attend two important tradeshows to sell her products and generate customer orders.
